DR. AMRESH KUMAR received his professional veterinary education at the U.P. Agricultural University, Pantnagar, now G.B. Pant University of Agricultural and Technology, and obtained B.V.Sc., & A.H., and M.V.Sc. in Surgery from this premier institution. He received his Ph.D from the University of Illinois, USA. He joined the faculty of Veterinary Sciences at Pantnagar in 1966 as Assistant Professor. Since then, he has been serving his almamater in various capacities such as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Dean, Student Welfare. He has been the President of Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery. An author of more than 250 research papers published in Indian and foreign journals, and of more than 100 papers presented at national and international conferences, Dr. Kumar is recognized for his work in anesthesia and surgery. He is the author of several monographs and books, and was Editor of Indian Journal of Veterinary Surgery for more than 10 years. He is, at present, working as Professor and Head, Department of Surgery and Radiology, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.
