S S Bhojwani retired as the Director and Professor of Botany, Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra. He has earlier been at the University of Delhi. During his 50 years of teaching and research career he worked in the UK as a British Council Visitor and again as a Royal Society Commonwealth Bursar, and at the NRC Plant Biotechnology Institute, Canada. He was awarded Senior Fellowships of NRAC, New Zealand and JSPS, Japan. Dr Bhojwani has published over 100 research papers in international journals. He has also authored two books on plant tissue culture and edited four books on embryology of angiosperms, and plant biotechnology.
